Fibromyalgia and Biodepletion

Bioaccumulation occurs when chemicals or toxins accumulate as they move up the food chain. Many believe fibromyalgia is caused by exposure to too many chemicals in the environment.  But after decades of research, no toxin has been associated with fibromyalgia.

However, many who suffer from fibromyalgia have a history of repeated illness, and repeated use of antibiotics.

In addition, many of us share histories of eating processed foods and produce grown on factory farms where disease and pests are controlled with chemicals that remove not only pests, but also beneficial microbes.  We eat canned and packaged foods that have been “purified” and preserved, as though the flavor compounds and microbes inside the food are not important to our health.

I believe our illness is the result of biodepletion.   The foods and medicines we’ve depended on to nurture ourselves are so depleted of nutrients and microbes necessary to maintain good health that our bodies lack the vitality we need to meet the daily stress.  We hurt.   We tire easily.   We have little ability to resist stress.  It is not what we have that is making us sick.  It’s what we are missing!
